Field oriented control (FOC) of Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors (PMSM) is utilized in many industrial applications due to its high performance. Semiconductor manufacturers provide specialized solutions and tools for this technique. However, such are protected with closed source codes. This reduces the flexibility performance systems. paper presents conducted studies controller embedded software design FOC a PMSM using extended back-electromotive force (EMF) observer. Observer derived from motor analytical model. Accurate position speed estimations observed simulations. An inverter board obtained market microcontroller designed. Extended back-EMF observer model implemented software. Performance nominal range no-load full-load along transient loading tested 3000 rpm fan motor. The developed drive system capable operate down 200 maintain stability under load disturbances, compensating 10% error during transitions one second. fully replace existing benefits having robust flexible structure that can be fine-tuned according application.
